How We Pick Gear

If we’ve used it, we say so. If we haven’t, the page says the pick is research-based.

What we check

  • Specs and fit: weight range, handle size, build quality, and what the thing is really for
  • Total cost: the price, plus shipping and whatever else you’ll need to buy with it
  • Warranty and returns: what happens when it shows up wrong or breaks
  • What owners say: patterns across lots of reviews, not one loud opinion
  • Sources and dates: every guide lists where its facts came from and when they were checked

Lines we won’t cross

  • Saying we tested something we didn’t
  • Hiding that a link earns us a commission (the affiliate disclosure has the details)
  • Making up reviews, ratings or credentials
  • Giving medical advice. If you have an injury or a health condition, talk to your doctor before you start training

Updates and mistakes

Prices and products move around, so each guide shows an “Updated” date. If we got something wrong, tell us on the contact page and we’ll fix it.
